In October of 2020, a group of soon to be board members met in the backyard. We had set out to take youth athletics to the next level by focusing in on the individual athlete as a well rounded person and not just their skills on the field. I felt passionately about this (and still do!) and wanted to be involved. As we elected board members, Social Media Director came up and I was the gal for the job. In the past I had started Social pages for various companies, wrote more E-mail blast than Shakespeare has written plays and understood the importance of ALWAYS being “on brand”. I was happy to volunteer my knowledge.
As the season progressed it wasn’t enough for me to just post photos on Social Media any longer. I needed more. I became OBSESSED with what makes Social Media tick. I started my foray into hype videos, and without me even knowing, the second I clicked “post” , my life changed. I started to receive calls inquiring who made our teams videos and what they charged. What they charged? Charged? What?! I was a volunteer for a youth program and I did it for free. I didn’t say that of course. I put a price on my work and got to it. Looking back now it wasn't too far off from free. Surely those calls just came from people being kind, right? After a few more calls I decided I needed to make this thing legit and file for my “side hustle”. I was a mad scientist studying reach, engagement, algorithm and branding. I can look at a Social Media page and know almost instantly what it needs to thrive, I see the world through how it's branded. By the end of 2021, I’d fallen in love with building my company and it was no longer a “side hustle”. My Life Insurance sales days were coming to a close and I entered 2022 as Robbie Olesky, Owner of Never Too Social: Media Marketing | Branding Building.
The Name, Never Too Social, is a way to pay homage to all the teachers who told my parents “Robbie is a great student, hard worker but she’s a bit too social” My mother said “You can NEVER BE TOO SOCIAL but maybe be quiet.” I still pride myself on being an unstoppable worker, a great student and Never Too Social.
